In a poignant post entitled "The Next Chapter" on his personal website, U.S. soccer player Robbie Rogers has come out as gay and also stepped away from professional soccer.

The hope now is that his sexual orientation is ignored. Instead, we should concentrate on the man's abilities on the soccer field and not the fact that he is gay. This could prove difficult however because Rogers has also announced that he is leaving
