Powerball Jackpot Winner In Virginia To Claim $217 Million Prize

The PowerBall jackpot may have been hit in Virginia, but last night's drawing still proved to be very lucky for Rhode Island.

A single Powerball player in Virginia matched all six numbers drawn Wednesday night, winning a $217 million jackpot. Players in Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, New York and Rhode Island matched the first five numbers — 5, 27, 36, 38 and 41

A ticket buyer in Rhode Island who chose the Powerplay option matched five numbers but not the Powerball and won $2 million. One tickets sold in each of five other states (New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Arizona and Kentucky) matched five numbers and

PowerBall tickets worth $2,000,000 and $10,000 were sold in the Ocean State. The winning $2,000,000 PowerBall PowerPlay ticket was purchased at AJ's Mini Market, 939 Social St., Woonsocket. This is the second $2,000,000 PowerBall ticket sold in Rhode

The winning Powerball numbers for Feb. 2, 2013 are 11, 16, 33, 40, 41 and the red number is 34. The jackpot in Saturday's drawing stood at $176 million after no one picked all six numbers on Wednesday.
