MTV's 'Buckwild' Series Premiere Pulls 2.5 Million Viewers

Many West Virginia residents are not fans of Buckwild, MTV's new reality show which premiered last night.

Buckwild, MTV's slightly controversial new reality series about a group of backwoods West Virginia friends, debuted Thursday night to a decent haul of 2.49 million viewers over the course of its back-to-back premieres.

MTV's hillbilly-sploitation show is shocking! (But only because it's a bore.)

Buckwild premiered on Thursday night, preceded by the usual this-is-the-end-of-civilization condemnation/hype that greets any well-promoted MTV reality series featuring youthful humans.

"Buckwild" ramps up the stupid by adding an element of real danger. Whether they're doing back flips off the roof into a makeshift dump truck swimming pool or sailing along back roads "mudding" in the open bed of a pickup, it's obvious someone is going
