American Airlines fare revamp includes options to waive fees

American Airlines and the Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust have agreed to an amendment of American's lease agreement under which the bankrupt carrier will assume its leases at Tulsa International Airport and pay TAIT $265,621 in pre-bankruptcy rent

After a bitter battle between management and the Allied Pilots Association, American Airlines CEO met with union leaders face to face.

AMR/American Airlines chairman and CEO Tom Horton went behind closed doors with the Allied Pilots Association on Thursday morning. It appears his preference remains to exit bankruptcy first, then think about merging with

American will charge up to $88 more per round trip for passengers who want a basic ticket that includes checking baggage or changing the reservation later on.

American Airlines has rolled out a revamp of its fare structure, offering fliers a choice of three coach-class fare types that come with varying degree of perks and benefits. Travelers opting for the cheapest coach fares will still be subject to change
